The Project
Exciting developments are underway at The Ithon Centre, and we’re eager to share our vision with you. From enhanced community services to an affordable activities, our plans are designed to make a lasting impact to the community of Llandrindod Wells and beyond!
Saving the Building, Giving Back to the Legacy
The Albert Hall was built in 1896 by Ithon Road Presbyterian Church, a generous gift to the people of Llandrindod Wells. Church members came together, raising £2,000 to create a space for worship, gathering, and celebration.
Now, it’s our turn to give back.
The former Ithon Road Presbyterian Church building has been saved from dereliction, and is now being brought to life thanks to The Albert Hall’s enduring legacy.
It’s a full-circle moment: the church gave rise to the Hall, and now the Hall is reviving the church, as The Ithon Centre!
This isn’t just about saving a building, it’s about preserving a shared heritage and keeping both spaces at the heart of our community.
Together, they will continue to serve, inspire, and bring people together for generations to come.

What do we aim to achieve?
The Ithon Centre will be a place where everyone is welcome. Every week brings fresh ideas and new possibilities, but at the heart of it all, our key goals include:
- Creating a flexible, affordable events and exhibition space
A venue that adapts to the needs of artists, performers, organisers, and community groups – whether it’s a concert, a workshop, a public talk, a fete, or exhibition. - Providing an accessible meeting space for local groups
A reliable, inclusive environment where clubs, charities, and support networks can gather regularly and feel at home. - Opening a reasonably priced café
A relaxed, friendly spot for conversation, connection, and comfort – open to all and run with community values at its heart. - Preserving the heritage of the building
Honouring the architectural and spiritual legacy of the former Ithon Road Presbyterian Church while giving it new life and purpose. - Improving the food/drink facilities at The Albert Hall
Enhancing the experience for audiences and event organisers by providing a more suitable food/drink experience that is welcoming, and integrated with the Hall’s vibrant programming.
Together, these aims reflect our commitment to keeping both The Ithon Centre and The Albert Hall in active, meaningful use – spaces that serve, inspire, and belong to the community.
